WESSEX WATER HOSTS SUCCESSFUL INDUSTRY EVENT AHEAD OF BRISTOL NO DIG ROADSHOW
UKSTT and New to Trenchless Technology Network Members Gain Valuable Insights on Sewer Sealing Solutions at Claverton Down Operations Centre
BATH, UK – 1st October 2025 – Wessex Water successfully hosted a specialised trenchless learning event at their Operations Centre on Claverton Down Road, bringing together members of the UK Society for Trenchless Technology (UKSTT), New to Trenchless Technology Network and Wessex Water’s teams ahead of the highly anticipated NODIG Roadshow in Bristol.
The event, held at Wessex Water’s state-of-the-art facility at Claverton Down, in Bath, provided industry professionals with an exclusive opportunity to explore innovative approaches to addressing AMP8 requirements and tackling the critical challenge of sealing sewer catchments against groundwater infiltration using trenchless technology.
Amongst others, Eddie Rant, Director of Engineering and Asset Management, Daniel Humphrey, Networks Delivery Director, and Francieli Thums, Sewer Rehabilitation Programme Manager & UKSTT Council Member, led the comprehensive programme of presentations. The expert-led sessions covered all aspects of Wessex Water’s strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and practical delivery of sewer sealing at catchment scale.
The late morning & afternoon event finished in time to enable attendees to travel onwards to Tortworth Court hotel for networking opportunities with industry peers before the Bristol No Dig Roadshow the next day.

Tim Sargent, Vice Chair UKSTT, who introduced the event on the day, said “the event delivered significant value to attendees through educating them about trenchless sewer rehabilitation techniques and how these can be deployed to address infiltration challenges. It also allowed participants gained comprehensive understanding of Wessex Water’s systematic approach to catchment wide and at-scale sewer sealing, including detailed insights into project planning methodologies, stakeholder liaison strategies, and practical delivery frameworks”.
The timing of this event, before the Bristol NODIG Roadshow, created an ideal platform for industry professionals to engage in meaningful discussions and establish connections between patron members, suppliers, contractors and other trenchless specialists.
