Trade bodies agree to work together under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

The United Kingdom Society for Trenchless Technology (UKSTT) and the National Association of Drainage Contractors (NADC) have announced the signing of an MoU that sets out how the two bodies will work together for the benefit of the members of both organisations. The MoU sets out a commitment to regular meetings, representation on each other’s Boards, liaising over event schedules, supporting each other’s events and contributing to each other’s member communications.

Ian Ramsay Chair of UKSTT commented ‘we are delighted to enter into an MoU with NADC in a ground breaking agreement that by further encouraging the use of trenchless technology will ultimately help not to break ground where it isn’t necessary! Through regular meetings and communications we will work together positively for the best interests of our members, many of whom belong to both organisations. I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with NADC.’

Julian Wynn, Chair of NADC said ‘in the lead up to signing the MoU it was obvious that UKSTT and NADC have a lot in common and it makes absolute sense for us to work together productively. As an example, many NADC members are already using trenchless technology and they attend UKSTT events as well as NADC events. Co-ordination over scheduling events and supporting each others is a no brainer. I very much look forward to working closely with Ian and his Board.’

As part of the agreement, National Drainage Academy trainers will offer UKSTT members a 10% discount on all their NADC training courses and UKSTT will promote the DrainSafe approved contractor scheme to its members and the wider stakeholder community.

The MoU, which does not have an expiry date will be reviewed quarterly at meetings of the two organisations.
