Team Glanville Triumph In Running Challenge
Under sunny skies, our dedicated team of runners hit the streets of Plymouth on Sunday, 28th April. Starting and finishing at the iconic Plymouth Hoe, they were cheered on by a vibrant crowd, making the event unforgettable.
Since January, the Glanville team has been rigorously training, participating in park runs, and engaging in weekly Strava competitions. Throughout this journey, words of encouragement and friendly banter have fostered a strong sense of camaraderie, motivating us as we prepared for the big day. Collectively, the team ran over 450 miles in preparation for the event—an incredible achievement.
The team comprised runners of varying abilities and experiences, from complete beginners tackling their first 5k to others taking on their first 10k or Half Marathon, and seasoned runners who are active members of clubs across the South West. A special mention goes to Civils Ganger, Jack Miller, who ran the London Marathon in an impressive 3 hours and 36 minutes on Sunday, 21st April, raising over £1800 for Young Lives VS Cancer. He went on to smash his Half Marathon PB on Sunday with a time of 1 hour and 35 minutes—an outstanding feat just a week after his marathon.
In the Run Plymouth Team Challenge, the 5k team secured 4th place, and the Half Marathon team finished 8th—congratulations to all!
As a company committed to giving back, we are honoured to have raised £3555 for our three chosen charities. Among them, The Lighthouse Construction Charity holds a special place, alongside Luna’s Fund and Rowcroft Hospice, reflecting causes close to our team members’ hearts. Each donation will be distributed among these charities evenly with £1185 per charity distributed last week to support their important work.
The support from everyone has been incredible, from friends, family, colleagues, and our supply chain. Special thanks to our sponsors: RSM Lining Supplies Global Ltd, Re-flow Field Management, Vospers Motor House Ltd, U-Drive Vehicle Hire, Eagle Plant Hire, JDP, Greenham, South Coast Traffic Management Ltd, Hydroscand UK, and Exemed, all of whom contributed generously to our fundraising efforts.
A huge congratulations to Team Glanville for their outstanding performance on Sunday, 28th April. They have done themselves proud, and we are filled with pride to have such a determined team coming together for a brilliant cause!
