Rain Couldn’t Stop the Show: RSM’s Open Day Shines
From groundbreaking product launches to legendary entertainment, RSM’s Open Day once again proved why it’s a highlight in the sewer rehabilitation industry calendar.
RSM Lining Supplies would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible customers, partners, and exhibitors who joined them on the 4th September for their sixth biennial Open Day. Despite the rain, the event was a huge success, filled with informative presentations, live demonstrations, networking, and in true RSM style, fantastic hospitality – complete with an open bar and sets from Radio One’s James Cusack and the legendary Judges Jules.
Founded in 2003 by Managing Director Richard Davis, RSM has grown into a multi-million-pound global enterprise, supplying total CIPP solutions to the sewer rehabilitation industry worldwide. Customer service and long-term partnerships have always been at the heart of RSM’s growth, and their Open Days have become an infamous way of giving back to the loyal customers who have supported them on their journey to success.
Since their last Open Day back in 2023, RSM has achieved record breaking results, with their world-renowned impregnation service processing over 80 kilometres of liner. They’ve manufactured & dispatched over 93,500 Pipe Aid Kits, dispatched over 42 kilometres of UV liner, and trained 370 engineers through their certified training course. In the past 12 months alone, RSM have supplied to 736 customers across 27 different countries, further expanding their global network and strengthening their reputation as an industry leader.
Guests at the Open Day were introduced to several exciting innovations, including a brand-new cable upgrade for their range of Sewertronics UV LED Curing Systems. Compatible with both the SpeedyLight+, the new cable offers engineers improved usability and greater efficiency on site. It reduces the risk of the cable kinking, making it much easier for the engineer to push the curing head through the pipe.
RSM’s new Gecko E Lateral and Gecko E Power Cutters also drew significant attention. These advanced electric cutters were produced to meet the growing demand for electrically powered, compact, and highly manoeuvrable cutters. With unmatched precision, portability & ease of use, both systems significantly reduce site emissions and setup complexity with battery powered options available should the user prefer. Engineers in attendance were able to put the cutters to the test within demo pipe systems, exploring their benefits in real life circumstances.
Another major highlight was the introduction of RSM’s new Manhole Spray Lining System, a comprehensive rehabilitation solution using the WRc-approved GeoKrete Geopolymer, providing exceptional durability, corrosion resistance, and long-term structural protection for manholes.
Not only were new products introduced, RSM’s experienced technical team conducted demonstrations throughout the day, showcasing innovation in action. Attendees were able to watch the rehabilitation of a full pipe system from manhole to manhole – the mainline was relined with an inversion liner pre-impregnated with CP655 Class 1 Epoxy Resin, before being inverted into the host pipe using a KrasoTech Sluice 300. Once installed, the liner was steam cured using the KrasoTherm Hybrid Boiler, whilst the VeriCure Cure Monitoring System was employed to ensure a consistent cure throughout the pipe.
Following this, the lateral was reinstated with the Gecko E Lateral Cutter before the connection was rehabilitated using a Top Hat System. The lateral itself was then relined using advanced UV LED Curing technology – a liner impregnated with UV LED resin was inverted into the pipe before being cured using the Sewertronics SpeedyLight+ System (complete with new cable!). Finally, the manhole was successfully sealed using the new Manhole Spray Lining System. This seamless series of demonstrations underlined the strength of RSM’s complete solutions for trenchless repairs.
The Open Day also served as a reminder of the importance of collaboration within the industry, with support from RSM’s renowned partners including Applied Felts, BKP Berolina, Dancutter, KrasoTech, Picote Solutions, Sewertronics, UKSTT, Vortex, VP Polymers, Westrade Group & the WRc Group. Their presence reflected the shared commitment to driving innovation and delivering the latest advancements in technology to the sewer rehabilitation industry.
Reflecting on the event, Managing Director Richard Davis said: “The Open Day was a massive success and a true reflection of the teamwork, innovation, and commitment that drives RSM. I could not be prouder of how far we’ve come, and I want to thank our customers for their loyalty and support. Without them, none of this would be possible.”
Looking ahead, RSM are excited to build on this momentum, continuing to strengthen partnerships, push boundaries in trenchless technology, and deliver exceptional service to customers worldwide. The company is already looking forward to welcoming guests back for their next Open Day in 2027.
