API Completes training project in Manila using PIPA Hydrocam™ with water company Maynilad Water
Nearly a year on from Maynilad Water visiting UK based water pipe inspection systems manufacturer PIPA in Derby, API has been busy training yet another international water company on using under pressure pipe assessment system the Hydrocam™.
The Hydrocam™ system is an industry approved pressurised push rod camera that includes an ultra-responsive hydrophone for leak detection along with a cable trace feature.
The system is designed to inspect DMA sized pipes fully sanitised and under standard operating pressure with no disruption to water networks.
The PIPA systems includes a chlorination housing and is approved for safe use in potable water pipes. 
The camera sensors include ultra-bright COB lights, HD camera sensor with an ultra-responsive hydrophone.
API worked closely with the client starting with office based training, then on to site delivery, then a successful nightshift to complete several surveys including leak verification, locating a pipe bend, and also understanding pipe configuration at a commercial building which identified an inline water meter.
The equipment sale was negotiated through PIPA local agent Waterkonsult with additional PIPA meetings held with Manila Water & MWSS over the 5-day visit.

The PIPA systems are designed for safe use on many style fire hydrants, many other valves and pressure fittings installed directly on top of a water mains. The pipe set up in Manila proved to be ideal with some simple modifications from standard PIPA UK specifications.
