CPC CIVILS / SEVERN TRENT / PICK EVERARD / AMS NO DIG
DVA Bamford to Ambergate Ambergate SSR to Crich SR
The Ambergate to Crich project involved the installation of a 450mm SDR17 PE pipeline using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) beneath a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The route passed through hard rock and was subject to tight environmental and spatial constraints. While HDD is a well-established trenchless technique, its application under such stringent ecological and geological conditions required exceptional planning and execution. The project was delivered on time and within budget.
CPC CIVILS / SEVERN TRENT / GHD / ACTIVE TUNNELLING
Crowle – Flood Alleviation Scheme
The Crowle Flood Alleviation Project delivers 480 metres of new foul sewer using a trenchless method in a constrained residential area with difficult ground conditions. CPC Civils Ltd and Active Tunnelling Ltd replaced the original open-cut design with guided auger boring and wet caisson shafts, enabling safer, quieter, and more sustainable construction. With zero accidents across 10,000+ man-hours, the team minimised disruption and maintained programme efficiency through early contractor involvement and collaborative site management. This innovative, community-focused solution demonstrates engineering excellence, delivers long-term value for Severn Trent Water, and sets a new benchmark for future sustainable infrastructure delivery.
