PIPA Technology finally arrives in Finland!
API has recently been working in Finland delivering a combination of classroom-based and live on-site field training to local crews on PIPA Hydrocam™ and Flowrider™ Technology, supporting the rollout of advanced under-pressure water pipe inspection capabilities in another international market.
The team was operating PIPA Technology supplied through our Finnish partner, Underground City Finland, who have invested in several Hydrocam Pro Pack™ units and a Flowrider™ system. This investment gives local crews the capability to carry out under-pressure water pipe assessment across a wide range of pipe sizes, helping water professionals inspect live networks without excavation or taking pipelines out of service.
Hydrocam™
The Hydrocam™ is an industry-approved flexible push camera designed for under-pressure inspection of 3–12-inch pipework.

The Flowrider™ is an industry-approved floating camera system designed for 12-inch and larger pipelines.
Featuring an ultra-responsive hydrophone, HD camera and cable trace capability, Flowrider™ provides both visual and acoustic inspection of live water mains.
Using PIPA-designed Hydrochutes, the system can utilise the existing water flow to carry out long-range inspections of up to 1,000 metres.
The Hydrochutes also incorporate a remote collapse system, supporting safe retrieval of the inspection equipment.
Designed for potable water networks
PIPA systems incorporate a dedicated chlorination housing and are approved for safe use within potable water networks.
Data that delivers value
Every inspection location provides valuable pipe condition and network data.
Following the field surveys, API will analyse the collected information and provide sample detailed reports to the water utility company, helping turn inspection data into actionable information for network management and future investment.
