Morrison Utility Services (or ‘MUS’), the UK’s largest dedicated utility service provider and part of M Group Services, is using the world-leading International Safety Rating System (ISRS) to support the continued development of its Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) assurance processes.
MUS will use ISRS, developed by global quality assurance and risk management company DNV GL, to assess and benchmark safety and sustainability processes and management across its organisation. The areas covered will include occupational health and safety, process safety, security, environment, quality, asset integrity and social responsibility.
Trevor M Hoyle, Managing Director – Utilities, commented: “ISRS is a process driven approach to improve safety
and sustainability and is designed to help organisations improve performance by using a systematic approach to risk. We are implementing this objective, consistent and repeatable benchmarking process to define current SHEQ performance and identify possible areas of improvement across our gas, water and electricity contracts. This process will play a critical role in helping to ensure that our people and the public are safe at all times.”
MUS SHEQ Director Paul Kerridge added: “ISRS will provide a comprehensive, independent examination of our SHEQ systems and processes. This assurance process will focus on governance and accountability across all aspects of our SHEQ activity providing our people, our clients and other stakeholders with assurance that our operations are safe and sustainable and that risk is being managed effectively, contributing to a collaborative improvement in SHEQ performance.”
