Morrison Utility Services (MUS), the UK’s largest dedicated utility service provider and a part of M Group Services, has received the Gold Award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
The ERS recognises commitment and support from UK employers for current and former defence personnel and is a scheme that has been developed by the Ministry of Defence.
One hundred employers were recognised by Defence Secretary Ben Wallace for outstanding support of the Armed Forces community, by being awarded an Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award. All will be presented with the awards on 12 November 2019 at the National Army Museum in London.
Awards are given to organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to the defence and Armed Forces community. Morrison Utility Services received the Bronze Award in December 2017 and the Silver Award in August 2018, showing its ongoing commitment and support to current and previous ex-forces personnel looking for new career opportunities.
Morrison Utility Services HR Director Colin Jellicoe commented: “We are delighted and very honoured to have been recognised for the Gold Award. Morrison Utility Services highly values the contribution, expertise and diversity that recruiting from the Armed Services community brings to our business. We are proud to support our brave service men and women. This award comes just twelve months from our receiving the Silver Award and is recognition of the effort our Morrison Utility Services Armed Services members, leadership team and our people in general, have given to this exceptional cause. Our ex-forces community continues to grow and enrich our business.”
Morrison Utility Services Executive Director Sean Kelly commented: “As a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant, Morrison Utility Services is honoured to have received the Gold Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. Our Gold Award shows the level of our ongoing commitment to those serving, and who have served, our nation, and importantly, how they have the potential and skills to train for a new career with Morrison Utility Services – it has been a great success to date and we will continue to build and grow this commitment and capability.”
